We are seeking a Sewing Volunteer who can assist with minor clothing repairs of resident’s clothing, including replacing buttons, adjusting hems and minor mending and clothing modifications.

The Sewing Volunteer will carry out the tasks within one of the cottages onsite to add to the home-like environment and enable residents to engage with familiar household tasks. The volunteer is encouraged to invite residents to participate and/or be a part of the activity in whichever way they chose, to foster a sense of dignity and personal satisfaction.

Volunteering as a social visitor can be a rewarding experience, both for the person you visit as well as yourself. Regular visits from volunteers can help to improve quality of life and help people feel less isolated.

Requirements

We'd be happy to discuss a suitable time during the week for a one hour visit between 9am and 4pm Monday to Sunday, visits could be weekly to fortnightly depending on your availability.


18 years or older β€’ National Volunteer Police Check arranged and paid for by HammondCare plus NDIS Worker Screening CheckΒ
