This role is ideally suited for that candidate who is looking to take the next step in their career and has Head of Tax in their sights. Senior Tax Manager roles in TAL are required to be able to work across all portfolios and tax subject areas and should expect to work across various of these from time to time. However, each role will have a key point of focus and provide back up to other areas.
The Senior Tax Manager - Indirect Tax, in TAL acts as a trusted partner to leaders across the TAL business, accountable for providing accurate, complete and timely advice that deliver commercially sound, and compliant, solutions which focus on Indirect tax matters. This role is key in driving compliant outcomes with our key stakeholders and influencing commercial initiatives. The role requires the individual to take accountability for setting compliant requirements that other areas maybe required to meets these requirements. The role then requires the individual to take accountability for auditing compliance against the requirements and influencing areas outside of the tax function to take accountability for the execution of the requirements.
Incumbents in this role use their professional knowledge to deliver high impact advice across Finance, and TAL more broadly, and are expected to provide advice on the achievement of key commercial objectives, providing advice that influences commercial decisions that TAL needs to address which focus on Indirect tax matters.

The Senior Tax Manager - Indirect tax, is also accountable for ensuring the implementation of policies, processes, calculations, models, procedures, and compliance obligations, especially in respect of governance, risk management and documentation relevant to all TAL Business Units. The role ensures the provision of accurate and timely advice to the business and developing and enhancing relationships with stakeholders throughout TAL and with external parties, such as the ATO and State Revenue Authorities. The Senior Tax Manager - Indirect tax is accountable for enhancing existing processes and continually improving the level of support provided to the TAL business with a particular focus on various strategic programs focusing on Indirect tax matters. This role is expected to oversee the work of the Tax Analysts, and other junior staff who may support Tax from time to time, who support the deliverables of the Tax Team, providing coaching and training as required to ensure the capability development of all team members.
