Rolleston Open Cut is a 16Mtpa thermal coal mine located in the southern Bowen Basin in Central Queensland. With a long life of mine and low operating costs, the mine has a bright outlook. About the Role
An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Senior Mining Engineer to join our dynamic and successful team. As a valued member of the Technical Services team and reporting directly to the Medium/Long Term Planning Superintendent, you will be responsible for:
- Developing and maintaining the site’s medium term production schedule, including destination and haulage scheduling.
- Liaise with key personnel to ensure mine schedules are optimised and can be implemented safely.
- Coordinate and work with other departments tying in all aspects of mine planning to ensure timely delivery of critical business objectives.
- Coach and mentor other Mining Engineers within the Technical Services department to build capabilities within the team.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering.
- Experience using Spry, Deswik and Vulcan software packages is desirable.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills as this role deals with all levels of staff and management.
- A flexible attitude and demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and problem solve.
- Proven previous experience in a similar role at a senior level or ready to develop into a leader.
