In this role you’ll be a vital part of our Industrial Mechanical team in Perth who are bringing ideas to life by imagining and co-creating with our clients to create a better future for people and the planet.

Your role will include:

  • Delivering technically excellent mechanical engineering designs and consultancy services and working collaboratively with multidisciplinary project teams to deliver an exciting portfolio of materials handling and complex machines projects.

  • Performing a senior engineer role on projects.

  • Mentoring and facilitating the technical development of more junior resources.

  • Assisting to drive business development, winning work, identifying the next opportunities and supporting the winning of these opportunities. Assist with bid preparation and submittals as required.

  • Developing and maintaining strong client relationships.

  • Driving and supporting a culture of safety and quality within the team.

Previous consulting experience is essential.

As well as experience in a similar role, you can demonstrate:

  • Bachelor’s degree or master’s in mechanical engineering.

  • Solid technical background and practical application experience in bulk materials handling, complex machine design in the resource sector.

  • Design experience across at least some of the following areas:

    • Car dumpers

    • Complex machines including reclaimers, stackers & shiploaders

    • Bulk materials handling equipment including conveyors & transfer chutes

    • Dust suppression systems

    • WA resources sector with iron ore experience

  • Sound knowledge and experience implementing relevant technical standards.

  • Proficient with relevant mechanical design software (e.g. Helix, Belt Analyst, Inventor, ANSYS, Rocky)

  • Developing business and commercial acumen. Familiar with goals and metrics that drive business, financial and project performance and manages own scope and time to optimise team performance and efficiency.

  • The ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and to effectively collaborate with those around you. A growing knowledge across a range of disciplines.

  • A desire to continually grow your own career and technical development by staying abreast of industry best practice design methods, software, technologies and by adopting digital delivery, and innovation. A desire to share knowledge, contribute, grow and develop the capability and experience of the team.
