Overview

Playing a vital role in our team, the Registered Nurse or Clinical Nurse, delivers top-quality care to patients/clients while continuously advancing their professional expertise.  This role is ideal for individuals who are committed to personal and professional growth, thrive in dynamic healthcare environments, and are dedicated to providing compassionate, person-centred care. 

Key responsibilities:

• Develops from novice practitioner to proficient professional through continuous learning, professional development and hands-on experience
• Accepts full accountability for their own standards of nursing care and for delegating activities to others as appropriate
• Assess individual patient/client needs and devise comprehensive care plans, implementing and coordinating appropriate service delivery from a range of accepted options, including collaboration with other disciplines or agencies.
• Provide direct person-centred nursing care and/or individual case management to patients/clients on a shift-by-shift basis in a defined clinical area, with a focus on enhancing autonomy over time
• Plan and coordinate services with other disciplines or agencies to ensure holistic healthcare provision that meets the individual needs of each patient/client.

Essential Criteria

All applicants must be:

• Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
• Hold, or be eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.

Please note that as this position is multi-classed as either an RN/M1 or RN/M2C, the classification will be determined by qualifications and experience.  To be considered for the higher classification RN/M2C, applicants must also have at least 3 years, full time equivalent, post registration experience.

Location

Waikerie Health Service provides acute services ranging from in-hospital care for adults and children by local general practitioners to obstetrics, outpatients and aged care beds. The services available include accident and emergency, hospital services, maternity & obstetrics and aged care service.
