Retail Merchandiser

The Retail Merchandiser is responsible for driving sales of our newspapers through the newsagent, supermarket, retail, distributor and accommodation channels. You will build and maintain strong relationships and provide a high level of customer support to existing accounts to maximise retail sales of Nine publications, as well as actively seeking new business opportunities.  

Key duties and responsibilities:

• Visit retailers working to a Call Cycle targeting metropolitan areas, with seasonal visits to regional areas.
• Develop and maintain relationships with key retailers, distributors, and hotels across assigned territories.
• Monitor and improve product display, branding and signage across assigned territory 
• Generate new business by cold calling
• Provide point of contact for Circulation team 
• Liaise with Logistics Contractors to resolve issues as they arise 

Please note you will be required to have a current and valid Australian Drivers licence for this position. 

What we would like to see:

• Self-motivated with the ability to work unsupervised  
• Previous merchandising, retail, customer service or sales experience  
• A good understanding of retailing.  
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 
• Excellent presentation and negotiation skills  
• Excellent customer focus.  
• Excellent planning and priority setting.  
• Current drivers licence. 
• CRM experience (Salesforce) is ideal but not essential
