Job Description

We are seeking experienced, passionate Orthopaedic Registered Nurses to join our comprehensive Orthopaedic division as one of the largest joint replacement surgery providers in the Asia-Pacific region.

We provide support for our patients and their families at all stages, from diagnosis to special education clinics before treatment and rehabilitation programs to prepare for surgery or support recovery.

About our Epworth Orthopaedic Surgery wards

The Orthopaedic division at Richmond has the following number of beds across our Richmond Sites;

  • 6 LEE  35 beds
  • 5 LEE  37 beds
  • 3BE/4BE total 35 beds (BE 24/4BE 11)

Our Orthopaedic surgery wards provide nursing care to patients undergoing a range of treatments, including spinal surgeries, joint replacements, and fracture repairs. We also are the country's largest provider of anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) surgery and our surgeons are among the best in the country and are well-known internationally. Our teams perform over 4,000 knee and hip replacement surgeries annually, and care for over 1100 patients with orthopaedic trauma, such as fractures, dislocations, and soft tissue injuries admitted to our Orthopaedic units.

We offer comprehensive orthopaedic services specialising in limb reconstruction, orthopaedic oncology (cancer), some fractures and trauma, sports orthopaedic surgery and robotic surgery and operating on back and spine, hip, knee, foot and ankle, shoulder, and hand, wrist and elbows.

To be successful in this role…

You are an experienced Orthopaedic nurse who is passionate about patient care and achieving high quality clinical outcomes, a strong communicator, who easily builds rapport with patients and their families in a naturally supportive and engaging manner.  You are safety conscious and are not shy in speaking up for safety, and you are a team player who enjoys collaborating with team members to support the development and growth of our service.

You will bring the following;

  • Current AHPRA Nursing registration
  • Excellent clinical skills caring for surgical patients
  • Orthopaedic nursing experience is desirable
  • We welcome applicants from both medical & surgical environments

The annual salary range for full time Registered Nurses – AUD $68,212 - $95,776 + super + entitlements depending on registration type, year level and position (prorated for part-time).
