A vacancy exists in the above unit for a highly motivated Registered Nurse with appropriate knowledge and skills to join our friendly and supportive team. The Registered Nurse Hospital in the Home delivers high quality nursing care to patients in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia’s National Standards of Practice for Registered Nurses, criteria for RN as outlined in the Public Hospital Nurses and Midwives (State) Award and the Policies and Procedures of the MoH and Sydney Local Health District (SLHD).

The purpose of this role is to provide clinical practice in an integrated model of care called Hospital in the Home (HITH) which is designed to prevent hospital admissions and ED avoidance and support shorter length of inpatient stay. This service is delivered across the community and acute interface as a 7-day (8am-8pm) service and incorporates medical/clinical governance, patient and staff safety, and operates within the parameters of the SLHD.

Selection Criteria:
1. Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Philosophy, Mission and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries and St Vincent’s Health Australia
2. Currently registered as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Australian Health Professionals Regulation Agency
3. Current NSW Driver's License (Class C or above)
4. Demonstrated ability to work within the interdisciplinary team
5. Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development
6. Demonstrated computer literacy with email and an electronic patient record system
7. Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills
8. Demonstrated effective time management skills and ability to prioritise competing workloads
