About Day Therapy
Peter Mac's Day Therapy Unit is comprised of five patient care areas:
•    Chemotherapy Day Unit
•    Medical Day Unit
•    Transfusion Lounge
•    Clinical Trials Unit
 
You will have the opportunity to rotate between the Day Therapy sub specialities based on your skills and professional development plan. You will be supported by the broader day therapy team including your preceptor as well as the nurse manager and clinical nurse specialists. The unit is open Monday to Friday 0800-1900, with varied shift times and NO night shift.  
 
About You
•    A nursing background in an acute oncology care setting with recent experience in chemotherapy administration, cannulation and CVAD care desirable however willing to train and develop outstanding applicants.
•    A commitment to professional development of self and others and demonstrated commitment to providing patient focused care following the care continuum are essential
•    Outstanding clinical and communication skills are essential to this role with an eagerness to learn

Remuneration under the Nurses and Midwives (Victorian Public Sector) (Single Interest Employers) Enterprise Agreement 2020-2024 will be from RN Grade 2 Year 2 (YP3) $60,070.40 per annum (prorated for part-time) to RN Grade 2 Year 8 (YP9) $80,318.65 per annum (prorated for part-time) dependant on candidate. To be discussed with Hiring Manager.

Position Summary

Day Therapy provides patient care under a shared service model with Royal Melbourne Hospital and the Royal Women’s Hospital.

The service comprises of 85 chairs across five areas:
• Chemotherapy Day Unit
• Medical Day Unit
• Transfusion Lounge
• Apheresis
• Clinical Trials Unit

As a Registered Nurse at Peter Mac you are responsible for planning, implementing and evaluating evidence-based nursing care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team to achieve optimal healthcare outcomes for our patients.

The Registered Nurse is a key member of the health care team responsible for ensuring nursing professional, organization, legal and ethical standards are met. The Registered Nurse is responsible for supervising and delegating to other health care professionals such as Enrolled Nurses and Registered Undergraduate Students of Nursing (RUSON).
