  • Dayworker Monday – Friday – 5 weeks annual leave

About the Opportunity

The health services at Clarence has 3 modern health centers that deliver appropriate standards of health care to approximately 1700 inmates from diverse backgrounds and cultures.  As a team at Serco, we are hardworking, results and outcomes-focused, & we work well together. About you, what you’ll be doing 

You will provide primary care based on a patient-centred model allowing patients to actively participate in their health management. The team works closely with correctional staff to deliver holistic and integrated patient-centred health services that:

  • Promote the rehabilitation and reintegration of inmates.
  • Ensure the safety and security of inmates.
  • Fosters a high standard of practice to facilitate safe health care delivery.
  • Assess and manage intoxication and withdrawal states.
  • Act as a triage point for non-alcohol and other drug staff
  • Provide a comprehensive and accurate health assessment for patients.
  • Use analytical skills to assess physiological, psychological, and social information.
  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse, with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Relevant postgraduate qualifications in mental health or drug and alcohol; or working towards same; or extensive experience working in the drug and alcohol field.
