Applications are invited for the position of Primary Teacher in our Joshua Centre, from passionate and innovative teachers with a strong commitment to Christian education. Commencing at the beginning of the 2025 college year, the successful candidate will be passionate about autistic education and have experience working with students on the Autism spectrum. This role includes a Position of Responsibility as Dean of Primary.

The Dean of Primary role is a dedicated and innovative educator who can lead others in curriculum & pedagogy development and requirements; being passionate about excellence in teaching and pastoral care; and building an environment for students to flourish both social-emotionally and academically. The DOP must have an in-depth knowledge of the ethos of the College and the principles by which it operates and must be willing to support these unreservedly.

Reporting to the Joshua Centre Director, the Dean of Primary has curriculum and reporting; mentoring and induction of new staff; and pastoral care components. This role requires the capacity to work cooperatively and communicate effectively with the Head of Teaching & Learning Primary & Secondary roles, Dean of Secondary Joshua Centre, all members of the school community, including parents and professionals from external agencies.

The Joshua Centre opened in 2022 and is a special purpose educational facility that supports students on the Autism spectrum.  The Joshua Centre is located on the Tyabb Campus and provides a differentiated learning program and environment better suited to the sensory needs and routines of students with Autism.  We seek to see students with Autism not just survive, but instead thrive, be bold and courageous in their learning, social connection and wellbeing in order to live a full and purposeful life.
