Aquinas College is a Pre-K-12 Catholic School in the Edmund Rice Tradition servicing in excess of 1,300 local, country and international boys.  Aquinas College has a rich history within Western Australia's education and a reputation of producing outstanding young men.

Aquinas College Junior School is a Pre-Kindergarten to Year 6 Campus. We are seeking a suitably qualified, experienced, passionate and innovative Pre-Kindy Early Childhood trained teacher. Applicants with two years or more of experience will be preferred. This role forms part of an inclusive, supportive and high performing team, within a values based environment, reporting to the Head of Junior School.

This role commences in January 2025

Position Purpose:

To inspire boys to be the best they can be through effective teaching, learning and pastoral care.

Successful Candidate Credentials

To be successful in this role you will have the following credentials:

  • Hold a tertiary qualification specific to the specialist area of education-namely Early Childhood Education ;
  • Hold a current Teachers Registration Board (TRB) registration or provisional registration;
  • Hold a current Working with Children Check card;
  • Have or be prepared to obtain Accreditation to Teach in a Catholic school, or equivalent; and
  • Have or be prepared to undertake Mandatory Reporting training or similar.

Selection Criteria

To be successful in this role you will demonstrate the following:

  • Active support for the Edmund Rice Charism, Edmund Rice schooling, Catholic ethos and the College Mission;
  • Delivery of an educational vision and purpose consistent with College Mission;
  • A comprehensive understanding of current educational matters, including Australian Curriculum and the National Standards;
  • Comprehensive experience delivering education content with a commitment to teaching excellence;
  • Knowledge and experience of boys’ education philosophies;
  • Outstanding classroom practice and comprehensive experience using Information and Communication Technology in the classroom;
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, enabling harmonious and positive relationships;
  • Strong communication, organisation and time management skills.
  • A demonstrated understanding of child safety;
  • A demonstrated of appropriate behaviours when engaging with children;
  • Familiarity with legal obligations relating to child safety including mandatory reporting requirements; and
  • Demonstrate suitability to engage in child-connected work
