About the Role
The Practice Development Nurse – Cardiac is responsible for supporting the professional development of all permanent and program staff across our cardiac settings, including the Cardiac Investigation Unit. Their primary role it to ensure best practice by providing ongoing education and support for all staff with particular focus on the advancement of knowledge, skills and training with relevance to the cardiac setting.  This will be achieved by implementing clinically based education using the principles of Evidenced Based Practice to improve the delivery of nursing care. Furthermore, they will be responsible for their own professional development in order to maintain expert clinical skills and advanced knowledge.

Classifications for this position will be YZ7 ($113,646.00 per annum pro rata)

Your Contribution

  • Registered in Division 1 with the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Board and current Practicing Certificate

  • Bachelor/Master’s Degree in Nursing (Entry to Practice)

  • A current Victorian Driver’s Licence

  • Postgraduate Qualifications in relevant nursing specialty (e.g. Cardiac or Critical Care preferably a Masters in Advanced Nursing or working towards).

  • Postgraduate qualification in Education, Clinical Supervision or similar (or working towards).

  • Experience in development, delivery and coordination of Nursing Education Programs.

  • Minimum of 5 years post-graduate experience in a cardiac setting.

  • Recent clinical experience in Cardiac Investigation Unit

  • Experience in clinical teaching and/or clinical supervision.
