About the role

Mater Hospital South Brisbane, Rehabilitation Unit is currently seeking an experienced Physiotherapist - Senior to join their team on a permanent and full-time basis.

The Physiotherapy department at Mater Health provides a broad range of public and private acute health services with adults, women’s health, neonatology, children and adolescent services. The Rehabilitation Physiotherapy team provides specialist services to inpatients and outpatients in a primarily private setting.  The team encompasses Physiotherapists and assistants who are passionate about delivering evidence based, high level physiotherapy clinical care across a 7 days per week service in a multidisciplinary environment. Physiotherapy employees may be required to work across facilities, service and/or sites as required.

Salary range: $61.81 - $66.48 (HP4) per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  + access to many staff benefits!

What you’ll be doing

As a senior clinician of the Rehabilitation team, you will deliver high level clinical services within Mater Private Hospital Physiotherapy Rehabilitation team, provide leadership and mentorship within the department in your area of clinical expertise as well as within multidisciplinary teams, and lead quality improvements to continuously improve and support patient centred, evidence based care.

  • Manage diverse caseload independently, adapting clinical practice as needed for optimal patient outcomes
  • Apply clinical judgment based on evidence, with minimal supervision
  • Provide specialized care and advice to the multidisciplinary team in areas like orthopaedic and neurological Rehabilitation Physiotherapy
  • Supervise and train less experienced practitioners, assistants, students, and support staff
  • Support Team Leader in managing team operations, workflows, and prioritization
  • Coordinate clinical education for Physiotherapy students
  • Contribute to developing and improving services, models of care, and protocols
  • Identify and implement quality and service improvement activities
  • Collaborate on clinical research activities
  • Provide expert advice and communication within professional and multidisciplinary teams, patients, families, and external agencies
  • Foster a learning culture through mentoring, supervision, and training

About you

  • Bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy (or equivalent)
  • AHPRA registration eligibility
  • Eligibility to receive a Medicare provider number
  • Demonstrated expertise in Rehabilitation care, including assessment, outcome measures, diagnosis, treatment, and case management
  • Strong clinical practice and independent judgment in delivering patient-centered Rehabilitation services
  • Effective communication skills with professional and multidisciplinary teams, patients, carers, and stakeholders
  • Demonstrated leadership, mentorship, and supervision within a Physiotherapy team
  • Proven ability to initiate, develop, and evaluate quality and service improvement activities for enhanced clinical services and patient outcomes.
