About the role:

The Perioperative Clinical Nurse Coordinator-Orthopaedic and Neuro Surgery is a key leadership role within the Operating Theatres.  Working closely with the Perioperative Services Manager and the Perioperative Clinical Nurse Consultant in planning, facilitating and evaluating perioperative service delivery for Orthopaedic and Neuro Surgery. You will be able to collaborate effectively with the multidisciplinary team to positively impact patient outcomes and professional growth of Clinical staff.

Through pivotal strategic management of human, financial and material resources, the Clinical Nurse Coordinator will work closely with the Perioperative Services Manager to help shape organisational strategies, improve service provisions and achieve departmental and hospital objectives.

Calvary Bruce Private’s Operating Theatres provide surgical services within an Endoscopy suite, a Cardiac and Vascular Cath Lab and five Operating theatres. These units servicing the specialties of  Respiratory, Cardiology, Urology, Neuro Surgery, Gastroenterology, General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Ophthalmology, Gynaecology, Vascular and Dental surgery.

Selection Criteria:

Mandatory:

  • Registered as a Registered nurse (Division 1) with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Demonstrated extensive experience and clinical competency in Perioperative Nursing within the field of Orthopaedics and Neurosurgery 
  • Valid working rights within Australia.
  • Demonstrated skills in leadership and management within a health care environment
  • Sound knowledge of current clinical practice, its delivery and models of care and the ability to motivate, inspire and lead staff to achieve service and professional goals.
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development through the participation in education and training activities relevant to the field of clinical practice of self and others.
  • Well-developed knowledge of ACORN & National Health and Quality Standards.

Highly desirable:

  • Demonstrated understanding of private health sector funding models.
  • Recognised tertiary management qualifications or working towards same, and evidence of recent professional development to further enhance leadership and management competencies.
  • Knowledge and experience with quality improvement processes and NSQHS National Standards accreditation requirements.
  • Demonstrated excellence in interpersonal skills including effective negotiation and conflict resolution
