We are seeking an experienced and visionary Nursing Director (Nurse Lead) to provide expert strategic and operational leadership, management, and governance for the Acute and Urgent Care team at Royal Adelaide Hospital Emergency Department & Trauma Services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership & Governance: Lead and uphold the highest standards of patient/client care and practice standards for nurses, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • System Development & Continuous Improvement: Drive the development and implementation of effective systems to support, evaluate, and enhance nursing and multidisciplinary practices, while promoting healthy work environments.
  • Accountability & Resource Management: Take responsibility for the cost-effective provision of health services, ensuring that resources are managed efficiently within your area of oversight.
  • Autonomy & Decision-Making: Exercise a high degree of autonomy, using independent judgement to make critical decisions in the management of health services.
  • Culture of Quality & Safety: Build and nurture a culture that prioritises quality and safety, ensuring that all practices are patient/client centred.

Essential Qualifications: 

  • Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.

Desirable Qualifications:  

  • Post graduate studies in nursing, health services management, health administration or human services relevant to the area of practice.
  • Qualifications in and/or experience in a Mental Health practice.
