Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented professional to join our Wingfield team as a Mechanical Design Engineer. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and participating in the effective product design and engineering for the Gearhart group of businesses.

Your key responsibilities in this role will include but are not limited to:

  • Review existing products to improve ongoing product performance.
  • Pursue new opportunities and products through engineering support and guidance
  • New product research, engineering projects, develop special purpose solutions to meet client objectives.
  • Ensure all design output adheres strictly to set quality and industry requirements
  • Development of design concepts, engineering calculation, detail design, drafting, 2D, 3D.
  • Lead, participate and encourage a safe work environment
  • Investigation of product quality and performance issues for existing products
  • Development, testing and engineering of Redback products
  • Develop and produce field reports on Redback products

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in Oil Gas or Mining Industry, manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Mechanical Design Engineering. 
  • Formal Engineering qualifications.
  • Competent in a variety of design and engineering software, AutoCad 2D, 3D Inventor.
  • Strong understanding in materials metallurgy
  • Excellent organisation skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
