About the opportunity:

We have an exciting opportunity for multiple Farm Hands to our team on our Macadamia Orchards near Gogango, Queensland. The successful candidates will assist in the development and maintenance of our Orchards. This position presents an excellent opportunity to expand your skills and knowledge in the field of Horticulture. If you are seeking an outdoor role in a fun and safe working environment, this could be the perfect fit for you!  

This is an ongoing, permanent opportunity and is not suitable for backpackers or candidates seeking short term work.

Key Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Area Manager – Fitzroy Macadamia Operations you will be responsible for:

  • All aspects of general farm work, including maintenance, repairs and reporting safety hazards
  • Planting, pruning, picking and harvesting in the respective seasons
  • Operating farm machinery, with on-farm training provided
  • Assist with the herbicide and pesticide application
  • Meet work health and safety requirements in all aspects of your role
  • Contribute to a positive and productive working environment


Requirements
  • You will hold a C class drivers’ licence (essential)
  • You will be flexible, reliable, and available to work hours which may vary to meet operational demands (with potential for Saturday work)
  • A positive, can-do attitude is essential
  • Attention to detail, in machinery, orchards and safety
  • You will have experienced working on a farm (preferred but not essential)
  • A holder of a Chemical Users Certificate (preferred but not essential)
  • Certificate II or III in Rural Studies or Horticulture or Agriculture (preferred but not essential)
