Language teacher - Arabic

Language Trainers is a successful language training company working with freelance teachers of 70 different languages in hundreds of towns and cities across the world. Students are either in-company or self-funded who need to learn a language at their office or their home for work, family or travel reasons. We might have a job for you as an Arabic teacher.

• One of our clients in Canberra would like to have a one-to-one 50-hours General Arabic tuition.

• The client wishes to have two x 2-hour lesson per week. Tuesday morning and Thursday afternoon or vice versa)

• Location: at the teacher’s home/office in the CBD, client is located in Turner Canberra 2601

• Clients’ current Arabic level: Elementary

• Client’s motivation: 

Through my university degree, I have studied a Major in Arabic Language. Within this major I had the opportunity to undertake in-country study in Jordan, as well as numerous cultural courses taught in Arabic (news and media/literature/history etc) and I loved it! Since finishing Uni, I have not used my Arabic and am rusty to say the least. I am keen to get my Arabic back up to scratch, with the intention of undertaking language testing qualifications at some point next year - if that works for me. I loved my time in Jordan and I loved understanding and developing my language!

As above, I have a major in Arabic Language and was likely at an intermediate level at that time. However, my skills have deteriorated, having not used the language since university (2 years ago). Since then, I have done occasional reading on the internet/books, but have not sought out speaking opportunities.

Mostly interested in learning all - but getting my speaking ability and confidence back up is a priority for me.

Student's age group: 25-34

Start date: tas soon as possible

Ideal teacher should:

• Be a native speaker of the language OR hold a teaching degree
• Have experience as a language teacher, translator or interpreter
• Have a valid working visa
• Live up to 20 miles from the client´s location.

Location of the classes and schedule could be flexible based on your and the client’s availability. The hourly rate is negotiable depending on qualifications and experience. This is a freelance part-time position and we are not able to sponsor your visa.
