Peter Mac @ Home – Community Nurse

Fixed Term, Full-Time Role (Part-Time considered) - Multiple Positions Available!

 

Peter Mac @ Home (PM@H) is the acute home-based oncology service for Peter Mac patients/clients and is available 7 days per week, 365 days a year. The service incorporates Hospital in the Home (HITH) and Home based cancer care as funded through the DHHS.

 

The PM@H unit is currently seeking an experienced clinical nurse/s to join our team as a community nurse in a part-time position. A commitment to providing excellent community care, professional development of self and others and a commitment to providing evidence-based care is an essential requirement of the role. We are looking for someone who can confidently work autonomously and within a team environment and will join us in contributing to the innovation of the service.
 
The role involves providing care to patients post-surgery, administering IV systemic anticancer medication, post-radiotherapy care, pleurX,/peritex patient education, and CVAD management.

 

Remuneration as per Nurses and Midwives (Victorian Public Sector) (Single Interest Employers) Enterprise Agreement 2020-2024. RN G3B Y1 HITH/PAC (YU15) $102,278.80 per annum (full-time). Prorated for part-time hours. To be discussed with Hiring Manager.

Essential Requirements

  • Registered Nurse Division 1 
  • Registration with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
  • Minimum of three years post registration experience  
  • 12 months Recent, acute medical and surgical experience clinical skills 
  • Competency achieved in in the following skills: peripheral cannulation and CVAD management; administration and management of anti-cancer drugs, safe handling of cytotoxic, monoclonal antibodies and hazardous non-cytotoxic drugs and management of cytotoxic and hazardous non-cytotoxic drug spill
  • Excellent communication skills and proven ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team 
  • Act as a professional Role Model 
  • Current Victorian Driver’s License
  • Demonstrate ability to provide education to patients, family and staff 

 

Desirable Requirements

 

  • Community nursing experience
