The Role:

SRG Global Infrastructure is currently looking for Heavy Duty Diesel Motor Mechanic for our workshop based in Naval Base. This is a full-time permanent role on a Monday - Friday roster, starting immediately.

We are seeking someone who will provide a high level of experience and support to current and future clients as well as our management team and other team members.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining diesel-powered production equipment & performing unscheduled repairs.
  • Maintenance of minor and major repairs of all diesel-powered equipment.
  • Ensuring the safe and efficient operation of all diesel-powered plant on site to ensure maximum output.
  • Working closely with Workshop Supervisors to ensure client expectations and SRG Global standards are met
  • Component rebuilding and repairing duties – engine and mechanicals for HD diesel-powered vehicles.
  • Identifying malfunction and troubleshooting breakdowns.
  • Carry out effective field service repairs.
  • Identifying and order parts & materials required for daily, weekly and long-term maintenance activities.
  • Ensure adequate consumables, critical spare parts and filter kits are held in inventory on site.
  • Working closely with the Site Manager/Site Supervisor and Plant Manager in defining and implementing weekly repair Schedule.
  • Maintain the companies CMMs as per the SRG Global Infrastructure Asset Maintenance Manual.
  • Assist in carrying out monthly stock takes for spare-parts/replacement components.
  • Aid in management of the security of all company assets on site.
  • Manage condition of assets & workplace to company, industry standards & legislation.
  • Execute & review effective HD vehicle maintenance & rebuild practices.
  • Any reasonable additional duties as requested by the Site Supervisor/Project Manager/Plant Manager.


The successful applicant will have:

  • Qualification in a Heavy Diesel Mechanical Trade Certificate
  • Hydraulic/Pneumatic experience is desirable
  • Strong understanding of Caterpillar, Komatsu and Hitachi machinery
  • Self-Motivated with attention to detail when carrying out allocated tasks
  • Have a strong understanding of safety and PPE requirements in an industrial environment
