Head Vet Nurse - Greencross Kangaroo Flat

We are looking for an Experienced Head Nurse who has strong communication and team building skills and previous experience leading and motivating a high functioning nursing team!

Greencross Kangaroo Flat is an open plan design, aiding in the inclusive and cohesive team environment amongst our Vets and Vet Nurses. We are a community focused practice with some very loyal long-term clients, team wellbeing and mental health is a top priority, supported with flexible working arrangements. Our facilities include 2 consult rooms, prep area, surgical room, radiography room, seperate dog and cat wards. 

About your New Job:

• Permanent Part-time role
• Undertaking general nursing tasks, including pre and post-operative care, animal pathology and emergency and critical care
• Performing minor procedures when required
• Taking initiative to enhance clinic operations and efficiency
• Collaborating with the vet team to ensure high standards of patient care
• Maintaining the overall hygiene of the practice, including surgical areas and equipment
• Reception duties and customer service

About your skill level and experience:

• Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing 
• 3+ years' Veterinary Nursing experience
• Excellent animal handling skills and an extensive knowledge and understanding of veterinary nursing procedures
• Experience coaching and mentoring Vet Nurses 
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to work effectively within a team
• A calm and friendly presence
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Knowledge of RX Works ideal but not essential
