Head Vet Nurse - Greencross Browns Plains

We are looking for an experienced, well rounded Head Nurse who is passionate about their career. Someone who is proudly professional, maintains clinical standards, drives improvement, believes in fear free/stress free handling and making sure that every animal & client who encounters our clinic gets the best possible standard of care!

We are looking for an Experienced Head Nurse who has strong communication and team building skills and previous experience leading and motivating a high functioning nursing team.

Working at Greencross Browns Plains you will join our existing team of 4 incredible Vets and 7 amazing Vet Nurses. This is an established, fun & friendly team of professionals who thoroughly enjoy their careers.

Our clinic opened in 2015 and is still managed by the same Practice Manager & Vet Director to this day.  We are co-located next to a Petbarn and share a complex with a multitude of other stores and food establishments. We are only 250m from Grand Plaza (major shopping Centre). We are also close to Beaudesert Rd, Logan Motorway & Gateway Motorway making commuting a breeze. 

About your new role:

• Full-time role heading up a team of Vet Nurses and supporting busy Vets
• Guiding and developing the Nurse team, building a positive team culture 
• Undertaking general nursing tasks, including team-based consulting, surgical procedures, pre and post-operative care, pathology and emergency and critical care
• Taking initiative to enhance clinic operations and efficiency
• Assisting management with daily tasks
• Collaborating with the veterinary team & management to ensure high standards of patient care
• Handling client enquiries professionally in person, by email and over the phone

We are looking for a candidate who:

• Holds a Cert IV qualification in Veterinary Nursing with minimum of 3+ years of experience 
• Experience coaching and mentoring Vet Nurses
• Possesses good leadership skills and the ability to work effectively within a team
• Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Is dedicated to providing outstanding patient care

We pay for our Cert IV qualified nurses yearly radiation licensing with QLD Health. Invitation to Greencross yearly Clinical symposium and many learning opportunities available to further your skills. Scholarship opportunities through Greencross as well as CE Leave.
