Job Description:

We are looking for compassionate and skilled General Medical/Surgical Nurses to join our dedicated healthcare team. As a General Medical/Surgical Nurse, you will provide high-quality care to patients with a wide range of medical/surgical conditions. Your role will involve comprehensive patient assessment, care planning, and implementation, ensuring the best possible outcomes for your patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients with diverse medical/surgical conditions.
  • Perform detailed patient assessments and develop individualised care plans.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by medical practitioners.
  • Monitor and document patients' progress and adjust care plans as necessary.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide holistic patient care.
  • Educate patients and their families about health conditions, treatments, and preventive care.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including treatment plans and progress notes.
  • Adhere to hospital policies, protocols, and safety standards.

Qualifications:

  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a general medical/surgical nursing setting.
  • Proficiency in clinical skills and patient care management.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate approach to patient care.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and independently.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.

Requirements:

  • Right to work in Australia
  • Current NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain)
  • Current CPR/BLS and ALS
  • Evidence of annual flu vaccination
  • Evidence of COVID-19 vaccinations (booster recommended)
  • Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
  • Knowledge of infection control practices and chronic disease management.
