About us

Wintringham provides aged care services to those who are financially disadvantaged and have previously been homeless or are at risk of becoming homeless. Supported by the Clinical Services Manager, Wintringham’s dynamic and highly skilled Clinical Care Team provides support to our residential and community sites ensuring that residents and clients receive high quality services that meet their health care needs. Our Tom Fitzgerald Residential Aged Care home in Shepparton is a low care home for our clients, on Yorta Yorta land.

 

Your new role:

We are currently seeking an eager and enthusiastic Enrolled Endorsed Nurse to join our Tom Fitzgerald Residential Aged Care Home on a Part Time basis. In this engaging role, you will work across 8 shifts per fortnight.

Your fortnightly roster is as below:

Week 1: Monday & Tuesday (0700 – 1500), Wednesday & Thursday (1430 – 2230)

Week 2: Monday & Tuesday (0700 – 1500), Wednesday & Thursday (1430 – 2230)

 

This is a great opportunity to showcase your leadership skills as you will be in charge on Wednesday and Thursday (for PM shifts)

 

Your responsibilities and duties will include (but aren’t limited to):

  • Assisting residents with personal care including personal hygiene, dressing, grooming and other activities of daily living
  • To observe and report changes in resident’s behaviour or physical condition
  • To undertake medication management and treatment procedures as directed by the Residential Site Manager or person in charge
  • To liaise with medical practitioners, pharmacists and other health services to provide relevant services for the care and wellbeing of the residents
  • Assisting in the implementation of cigarette and alcohol programs
  • Providing emotional support to residents.

What we require from you:

  • At least one year of experience in a similar role - this is essential
  • Ability to work both in team and autonomously
  • Cert IV/Diploma of Nursing with medication endorsement (with current AHPRA Registration)
  • Experience in Aged Care & ACFI/ANACC
  • Prior experience in housing & homelessness support, aged care, welfare, disability support, mental health or community/home care
  • Keen eye for detail
  • Excellent communication skills
  • The ability to enhance or maintain our residents' independence and lifestyle
  • A friendly, approachable and non-judgmental attitude
