The Company…
Based in Port Melbourne, the organisation is a non-profit childcare facility providing long daycare and kindergarten programs. The facility, having a NQS rating of “Exceeding” across the 7 quality standards, provides a warm, welcoming and positive environment that enables children to learn, grow and thrive. The Centre has a supportive and cohesive team, providing the children with enriching learning opportunities by utilising the wonderful beachside location and numerous nearby parks. They are currently seeking Bachelor, Diploma or Cert 3 trained educators to join their long daycare and/or kindergarten team. The positions on offer are primarily full-time opportunities, however, they are also open to part-time for the right applicant. If part-time is being requested, a reduction in number of working days per week will be offered but they cannot facilitate shorter days. 

 

The Position…

The position on offer is for an Early Childhood Educator, holding either a Bachelor, Diploma or Cert 3 qualification.

Early childhood educators play a crucial role in the development and education of young children. Their responsibilities go beyond simply providing childcare: they focus on creating a supportive and enriching environment that promotes learning and development. 

 

As part of the role, you will be required to fulfil the following duties:

  • Creating a safe environment to ensure the physical and emotional safety of children.
  • Lesson planning and curriculum development.
  • Classroom management to establish and maintain a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
  • Individualised assessment to monitor and assess the development of each child.
  • Communication with Parents and Caregivers.
  • Cultural sensitivity.
  • Promoting social and emotional development.
  • Health and nutrition.
  • Professional development and Recordkeeping.


The Ideal Candidate...

The Ideal Candidate must have the following:

  • Whilst experience in an early childhood educational setting is preferred, Graduates are also welcome to apply.
  • A qualification in Early Childhood Education (Bachelor, Diploma or Cert 3)
  • First Aid, Anaphylaxis, and Asthma certification
  • Good written and communication abilities
  • Right to work in Australia
  • Understanding of the EYLF and NQS
  • Excellent understanding of child safety standards and commitment to upholding the rights of the child and child protection.
  • Must possess current Victorian Working with Children Check
  • Mandatory Reporting certification

Above Award rates and generous leave entitlements will be offered to the suitable applicant ($25-$40 per hour depending on qualification and experience).
