Thiess currently have great permanent fulltime opportunities available for Blast Hole Drillers to join our team at QCoal Northern Hub. Reporting to the Drill & Blast Supervisor, you will be highly motivated and work collaboratively towards delivering high-quality solutions and results.
The QCoal Northern Hub is situated in the Bowen Basin in Central Queensland, about 200 kilometres’ northwest of Mackay and 6km south of Collinsville.
Working a 7 on and 7 off roster you will:
Work in accordance with site’s procedures
Accurately check the quality and depth of drill holes and record ground conditions that may affect blasting;
Maintain a clean and tidy Drill rig and report/address any maintenance faults;
Demonstrate a positive attitude towards regular and reliable drill metres, rig utilisation and consumables usage;
Provide neat and complete associated documentation for drill reports and pre-starts checks;
Regularly use and active participation in safety assessments; and
Be willing to be trained across a variety of drill rigs in the fleet and show an adaptable attitude.
About you
Minimum 12 months drilling experience in the mining industry
Experience with rotary or top hammer drills
Relevant qualification to undertake the role of a driller
S11 or willing to obtain
