Description

Located 30 minutes out of Rolleston Queensland, our Broadacre cropping property, Lynora Downs covers an impressive 4,880 hectares and the team is currently seeking two experienced farm hands to join them. If you are experienced in broadacre cropping, particularly cotton, then this could be the perfect role for you. Despite a primary focus on irrigated cotton, the team at Lynora Downs are working with a variety of crops, including Sorghum, Mungbeans, Chickpeas and Wheat.

Key Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Farm Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Assisting with planting, cultivating and harvesting crops
  • Crop management including herbicide and pesticide application
  • Operating and maintaining farm equipment and machinery
  • General farm maintenance duties including fencing and small repairs
  • Meeting work health and safety requirements and following processes
  • Provide support to other farm hands and work with them


Requirements

To be successful in this position:

  • You will be physically fit
  • You will hold a current drivers’ licence
  • You will be open to ongoing training and development
  • You will carry out your work as directed in a safe and sensible manner
  • You will be flexible and available to work hours and overtime which may vary to meet operational demands
  • A positive, can-do attitude is essential
