Key Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Farm Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Establishing crops including bed preparation, fertilising, sowing and cultivation
  • Crop management including herbicide and pesticide application
  • Operating broadacre farming plant and equipment including airseeder, precision planter, self-propelled spray unit and other farming equipment
  • Maintaining plant and equipment
  • General farm duties including fencing, repairs and maintenance
  • Meeting work health and safety requirements


Requirements

To be successful in this position:

  • You will be physically fit, with a good level of general fitness to meet the physically demanding requirements of the role
  • You will hold a current drivers’ licence
  • You will be open to ongoing training and development including vocational training
  • You will carry out your work as directed in a safe and sensible manner
  • You will be flexible and available to work hours and overtime which may vary to meet operational demands
  • A positive, can-do attitude is essential
  • Previous experience working on a broadacre farming operation, and operating machinery will be highly regarded however is not essential for candidates displaying the right attitude

Applicants with prior experience, or a background in agriculture will be highly regarded for this position.
