Steelmaking coal is an essential ingredient in blast-furnace steel manufacture, producing steel used for critical building and infrastructure around the world.  In Australia, we operate five steelmaking coal mines in Queensland’s Bowen Basin, and have additional joint venture interests in steelmaking coal and manganese, as well as copper exploration projects underway in North West Queensland and Western Australia.

We are looking for experienced, qualified Auto Electricians to join our Maintenance, Workshop and Ancillary team at our Capcoal Open Cut Operations in Middlemount, QLD.  

Working within the Maintenance team you will be carrying out preventive, general maintenance, and repair work.

You will ideally possess experience working with mine site equipment in a mining application.

You will enjoy the challenge of maintaining equipment, diagnosing problems, implementing preventative maintenance and have extensive skills. Knowledge of SAP is desirable.

• Inspect, diagnose, service and repair of Mobile and Ancillary Equipment.
• Utilise computerised maintenance management systems; (SAP desirable)
• Identify & scope work in the form of detailed SAP notifications
• Maintaining a high level of housekeeping in the workshops
• Undertaking training and upskilling as required;
• Attending to breakdowns and problem diagnosing;
• Scheduled maintenance and installations;
• Experience with fault finding;
• Work independently where required but within a team environment;
• Experience in facilitating and participating in job risk assessment

Current Australian Recognised Trade Certificate Previous experience working as an Auto Electrician Have demonstrated experience on Mobile or Ancillary Equipment. Current Australian Driver’s License (Ideally HR).

Preferred, but not essential qualifications: Additional Equipment Tickets for example; Elevated Work Platform, Forklift, Working at heights, ARC License.

• 7 On 7 Off Day Shift or 7 On 7 Off Day and Night Shift
• Based at our Capcoal Surface Operation in Middlemount
• BIBO from Mackay and Rockhampton
• This role is suitable for DIDO, and residential options, with subsided accommodation options
