About Kintyre Lodge

Located in the vibrant regional city of Dubbo, BaptistCare Kintyre Lodge is a welcoming, homely aged care home, offering 81 single bedrooms.

The Lodge, which is located next to BaptistCare Kintyre Retirement Village, offers 24-hour care and support to residents, catering to all needs and requirements - including residential respite. The home also features a specialised Memory Care Wing for residents living with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease.

Our lifestyle team at Kintyre Lodge run a fun and stimulating leisure activities program which includes bingo, exercise classes, craft, games, and outings, with the option for residents to participate as much or as little as they like.

All meals are cooked fresh onsite by our professional catering team, with a variety of nutritionally balanced menu options available each day.

Your Role

As the Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will be responsible for providing high-level clinical support and assessment for residents while also providing clinical leadership, support, and mentoring for Registered Nurses in the Aged Care Home. You will use your clinical expertise, leadership, and clear communication skills to assist with the provision of high-quality clinical care.

With a strong understanding of quality clinical care, you will lead, inspire, and educate care professionals to promote continual improvement of clinical care in the Aged Care Home. This role offers the opportunity to specialise in a clinical area such as palliative and dementia care while also providing a high level of general clinical expertise. 

Key Requirements

  • Registered Nurse with a minimum of five years of experience.
  • Clinical leadership in an Aged Care setting.
  • Demonstrated understanding and application of adult learning principle
  • Understanding and appreciation of BaptistCare’s Christian identity and values.
  • Knowledge of the Aged Care Quality and Safety Standards.
  • Postgraduate qualifications in a specialised clinical area (desirable)

 

Other Important Information:

  • Weekend work may be required.
  • Completion of prescribed mandatory training and annual appraisal development processes.
  • Additional tasks may be required based on qualifications, skills, knowledge, and experience.
