About the role

The Clinical Nurse Specialist will offer expert advice, mentor staff and lead initiatives to improve the clients’ quality of care. The position is vital for enhancing clients care and nursing practices within 3Bridges nursing function.


The Clinical Nurse Specialist will provide direct clients’ care and observe changes and health deterioration of clients, interpret clinical data, diagnoses and analyse complex health problems and determine a treatment plan in conjunction with other health professionals.



    • Conduct comprehensive clients’ assessments.
    • Interpret assessment data to formulate plans of care and proactively implement care within scope of practice.
    • Assess patient response to care and modify plan of care on the basis of response.
    • Effectively communicate with client and family including the sharing of information and education.
    • Document, accurately and appropriately, care progress notes .
    • Coordinate interdisciplinary care plan if required.
    • Collaborate with other services to optimise client’s health status.  
    • Contribute to the development, implementation, and evaluation of standards of practice, policies, procedures and guidelines.
    • Take an active role in teaching and enabling other team members.
    • Serve as an informal educator to staff while providing direct care activities.
    • Participate in audits to monitor and improve clients’ care.
    • Actively contribute to nursing function’s quality-improvement initiatives.
    • Identify practice problems and utilise resources to address practice issues through research or quality improvement processes.
    • Be accountable for the safe, efficient and effective use of resources.
    • Adhere to Occupational Health and Safety standards within the organisation to ensure a safe workplace.
    • Ensure thorough compliance with nursing quality and compliance standards.


    About You

    • Minimum 5 years experience as a RN and relevant post graduate qualifications to specialise.
    • Registered with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), or eligible to register 
    • Demonstrated advanced nursing practice within the relevant practice setting.
    • Highly advanced skills in planning, coordination and decision making, within the relevant practice setting.
    • Demonstrated leadership and patient care advocacy.
    • Valid Working With Children's Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check

    The successful candidate will require National Police clearance prior to appointment (completed by 3Bridges), valid NSW Working With Children Check clearance and Current NSW drivers’ licence.
