Your part in St Stephen’s Hospital team

To coordinate the planning, development, design, delivery, evaluation and improvement of education within the allocated department/s and education portfolio to support clinicians in providing evidence based and contemporary patient focused services. The Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) is responsible for ensuring excellence in educational outcomes within the resource constraints of the organisation and in the context of organisational values. The role will also contribute to the professional development of staff through involvement in orientation and mandatory training programs, delivery of departmental in-services, clinical bedside support and assistance with clinical competency programs in the allocated specialty areas. This position works closely with the Nursing Division to identify and meet the nursing education needs throughout the Hospital and will also contribute to the hospital quality improvement processes

Your experience has equipped you with excellent communication skills, and an ability to adapt your education style to meet the audience and individuals you’re working with.

You’ll be confident managing an education caseload, and have a methodical approach to meeting your priorities and deadlines. You’ll love collaborating with others, sharing ideas and working on opportunities for continuous improvements with your team. You’ll present with:

  • Bachelor of Nursing Degree or equivalent
  • Current AHPRA registration
  • Certificate IV Workplace Training & Assessment / TAE 40116 or post graduate education qualification (or working towards)
  • Postgraduate Qualification in Perioperative subject (Desirable)
