Griffith University’s Student Health, Counselling and Wellbeing offers students, and staff, a range of support services including counselling, chaplaincy, student safety and health services. These services are voluntary, confidential, and professional, and reflect the diversity of our shared learning community. Student Health, Counselling and Wellbeing also provides advice to senior officers on matters relating to student safety and wellbeing.

Job Description

  • 2 x part time (0.8FTE) positions based at Griffith’s Gold Coast campus
  • Short term, Fixed Term until 31/12/2024
  • $96,669 - $104,731 per annum + 17% superannuation (pro rata)

The multi-disciplinary Student Health, Counselling and Wellbeing team are an open and welcoming group, passionate about supporting and enhancing Griffith University and its students.

As Clinical Nurse, use your skills and experience to drive meaningful change. Here’s how you’ll make it matter:

  • Under the direction of the Director, Student Health, Counselling and Wellbeing provide (nursing) health assessment and treatment of illness and injury incurred by students, staff and visitors. 
  • Assist visiting doctors and other health professionals with relevant client care and ongoing treatment.
  • Respond as appropriate to requests for emergency first aid on campus and provide support and information to first aid trained staff on request.
  • Assist in daily activities of the Health and Medical Services, including providing practice support as required, administrative tasks, and maintaining appropriate supplies and equipment to deliver effective care.
  • Maintain appropriate and accurate electronic attendance records, confidential reports and health and medical services statistics using medical software supplied.

About you

  • Tertiary qualifications or progress towards post-registration qualifications.
  • Post-qualifying experience with a minimum of two years’ experience in a similar position.
  • Registration as a General Nurse with AHPRA.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as a Clinical Nurse.
  • Emergency/first-aid training or experience.
  • Experience in both vaccination and venipuncture.

What we can offer
This is a part-time (80%), short term contract (until 31 December 2024) and will be primarily based at the Griffith University Gold Coast campus. As Griffith is a multi-campus University you may be required to work across other campus locations.

Salary Range
The full time equivalent base salary will be HEW 7 range $96,669 - $104,731 per annum + 17% superannuation. The total FTE package will be in the range $113,103 - $122,535 per annum.
