About the role

Mater Hospital Brisbane is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for a fulltime maximum term, 8 month period to relieve in the position of Acting Clinical Nurse/Team Leader.

Salary range: $54.21 - $58.08 (Registered Nurse Level 2) per hour plus superannuation

What you’ll be doing

As a Team Leader within Ambulatory and Outpatients, you will work collaboratively with AOPS Leadership, Clinical and Administrative teams to provide compassionate service to patients and their families, to show sensitivity regarding privacy, flexibility when considering patients individual needs, and to promote a helpful environment in which the multidisciplinary team works effectively.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following;

  • Assist the Nurse Unit Managers in leadership of the nursing team by providing direction and support to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care
  • Act as a clinical and educational resource within AOPS using your knowledge, skills and experience to inform evidence-based workplace practices
  • Resource management of nursing staff to ensure service delivery is maintained, including rostering, sick leave management, and allocation of workloads
  • Act as an initial escalation point for clinical and non-clinical issues including, but not limited to, complaints, challenging patients, conflict resolution, deteriorating patients and IT system faults

To be considered for this role you will have;

  • Minimum of 2 years clinical experience in AOPS or an acute hospital setting
  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated clinical leadership skills, organisational skills and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated experience working with a multidisciplinary team
  • Previous experience working in a Team Leader position will be highly regarded
  • Demonstrated role modelling and promotion of the Mater Values
