About the Opportunity:
We are looking for a special kind of person – a St Vincent’s kind of person. Someone who puts compassion, connection and caring for other people at the heart of everything they do.
As the Behaviour Support Nurse, you will work closely with the leadership teams across our four Victorian homes located in Eltham, Kew, Hawthorn and Werribee
You will be responsible for supporting new or challenging behaviours in our residents associated with cognitive impairments. Working closely and collaboratively with the resident, their Next of Kin and all staff within the homes.
You will focus on a positive approach to behaviour management. This will include, but not be limited to having a deep understanding of each resident’s social history, clinical diagnosis and staff understanding and capability.
The role will include supporting residents, and their families with changing behaviours, providing feedback to the facility or clinical managers on staff understanding and capability, and in liaising with the Development & Delivery Team Leader – providing tailored education and training to the staff at each home.
