Perioperative Services

Cabrini Perioperative Services is a vibrant and dynamic environment with 19 operating theatres including a Hybrid theatre, with an addition of 3 endoscopy rooms and 2 Cardiac Cath Labs, spread across 2 levels, in a spacious and modern facility equipped with advanced technology. Our staff focus on every patient having a positive experience from their admission, at one of our three admission points, through to discharge from one of our three Post-Anaesthetic Care Units and 2 discharge lounges, which cater for all specialist post-operative care requirements.

The Role

An exciting and key nursing leadership position has become available for a dynamic, highly motivated, and suitably qualified registered nurse to lead the Anaesthetics and PACU team in a 12 month fixed term maternity leave cover position within the Perioperative Services Department at Malvern.


This position will suit a motivated nurse leader looking for an opportunity to build on current management experience. The successful candidate will be innovative and visionary with a focus on building a cohesive, patient care centred team.  The Nurse Manager’s focus will be to optimise patient safety and ensure the delivery of an exceptional patient and family experience.

About You

You will be a Registered Nurse/Associate Nurse Unit Manager with recent experience in Perioperative Services. You will have the opportunity to influence and inspire your team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.

  • Current AHPRA nursing registration

  • Clinical experience in Anaesthetics and Post Anaesthetic Care Unit Nursing

  • Evidence of strong leadership skills

  • Good understanding of workforce planning, and  proven management ability in managing budgets

  • Highly developed communication,  and organisational skills

  • Experience in quality improvement activities that have led to improved patient  care outcomes and patient experience

  • Understanding and experience of the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards

  • Ability to lead and work as part of a collaborative Multi-Disciplinary team

  • Solid understanding of the Cabrini Strategic Plan and the Cabrini Patient Experience Strategy
