About the Role

The full-time, ongoing position of Truck Mechanic is based at our Hallam site and the primary objective of the position is to work with the Maintenance team to maintain DAF and Volvo vehicles onsite while adhering to safety requirements, ensuring productivity of operations are maximised.

Duties will likely include (but not be limited to):

Perform minor and major repairs on DAF and Volvo vehicles and plant as required

Conduct preventative maintenance

Undertake services as scheduled in the service program

Follow all safe operating procedures and report any damage or loss in line with reporting procedures

Ensure all paperwork is completed on each vehicle / plant being repaired or serviced

Report hazards, incidents and accidents, and to help investigate, identify and rectify their causes.

Work in a manner to ensure that equipment is maintained and breakdowns are resolved effectively.

Maintain equipment to a high standard for housekeeping.

Communicate promptly any issues of plant or equipment quality to the production team leader and other shift employees.

Carry out maintenance activities as detailed in maintenance plans or instructions.

Ensure all procedures are adhered to including (but not restricted to), PPE, hot work, lockout - tag out (LOTO), and other safety procedures.

Use and maintain workshop plant and equipment to agreed standards.

Requirements:

  • Trade in a relevant field (truck mechanic)
  • Forklift licence
  • HR or MR licence (desirable)
  • Dual-trade, welding and fitter (desirable)
  • Australian Driver's License
  • Right to Work in Australia
  • Police check and pre-employment medical including drug screening (to be completed during the recruitment process).
