About the Role

The Physiotherapy is responsible for delivering a variety of high-quality evidence-based physiotherapy assessments and develop and implement programs and plans that enable clients to achieve their health and lifestyle goals. The Physiotherapist role delivers neurological physiotherapy to clients, in the community, with a variety of conditions including stroke, multiple sclerosis, acquired brain injury, Parkinson’s disease, functional neurological disorder, spinal cord injuries, concussion, cerebral palsy, and complex orthopaedic rehabilitation.


  • Manage a caseload of clients who may present with increasing behavioural complexity, multiple co-morbidities, and functional limitations across multiple areas of their life.
  • Consult with and deliver physiotherapy services to people with a disability and their service providers/families, in line with an individual’s NDIS plan and goals.
  • Provide assessment of neurological, musculoskeletal, cardiorespiratory and general systemic function as required for clients with a wide range of disabilities and impairments.
  • Assess mobility and function and prescription for provision of appropriate mobility and functional equipment.
  • Develop and implement programs, strategies and materials to enable clients to achieve their health and lifestyle goals as set by their person-centred plan.
  • Represent ClearSky and assigned clients at NDIS planning and associated meetings in matters associated with Physiotherapy.
  • Assessment of neurological, musculoskeletal, cardiorespiratory and general systemic function as required for clients with a wide range of disabilities and impairments.
  • Independently apply advanced reasoning skills to ensure outcomes are effective and match individual needs and practice standards and utilise the principles of evidence-based practice to all service delivery.
  • Monitor clients’ progress, maintain up-to-date clinical records, and communicate with relevant parties (other allied health professionals involved in the client’s care, client’s families, support coordinators).
  • Utilise a multi-disciplinary model to participate with a range of allied health professionals to provide a holistic and integrated approach to supports.
  • Liaise and consult directly with other service providers to ensure achievement of positive client outcomes.
  • Undertake administrative tasks necessary to perform the role including maintaining appropriate documentation and systems to safeguard the wellbeing of clients supported and the interests of ClearSky.
  • Perform all other duties as required.


Key Attributes

  • Hold a bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy.
  • Preferably possess experience working in Disability within a physiotherapy framework.
  • Pre-existing registration as a Physiotherapist with AHPRA.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact positively and constructively with clients, their families, service providers and representatives of government agencies.
  • Preferably possess knowledge of legislation, policy and practice in areas including disability care, forensic disability, child protection, aged care, and/or health care.
  • Demonstrated high-level computer literacy, especially in Microsoft Office and the ability to alternate between different systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a fast-paced organisation while completing high-level reports in a timely manner.
  • A valid Australian driver’s license.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certificates or willingness to obtain.
  • Possession of or willingness to apply and qualify for a Queensland Government ‘Positive Notice for Child Related Employment’ (Blue Card).
  • Possession of or willingness to apply and qualify for a Queensland Government ‘Disability Services Positive Notice’ (Yellow Card).
  • Possess a ‘Proof of Vaccination’ for COVID-19 in accordance with ClearSky policy.
