About the role

Bathurst Regional Council is currently looking for an experienced customer service professional to join the team at the Waste Management Centre. 

The Cashier Gatekeeper is responsible for differentiating between vehicle and waste types and determining the correct tipping charges, using a weighbridge and either a manual or computerised operating system. 

The successful candidate will have excellent cash handling skills, the ability to use computers and proven experience delivering outstanding customer service.

  • Excellent telephone answering skills
  • Excellent cash handling, electronic payments and reconciliation skills
  • Experience in using computers
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Interest in recycling and waste management procedures
  • Knowledge of WHS Legislation
  • Current NSW Class C driver’s licence

This position requires a pre employment health assessment which includes a functional, audio and drug and alcohol screen.

Salary: $666.23 to $699.99 per week + adverse working conditions allowance level 2 of $1.28 per hour + weekend loading where applicable + superannuation

Position Status: Permanent Part-Time

Hours of work: 24.25 hours per week, Thursday and Friday 7.15am to 4.45pm and Saturday 8.15am to 3.30pm
